Book Cover Reveal

The cover for Illegal Astronauts Book 1 has touched down.

I’m happy to announce that the book cover for Illegal Astronauts Book 1 is now complete and ready to be revealed!

Depending on where you’re reading this, you may notice that the cover is animated.

During the process of developing this design, I prepared the static key image of our hero (anti-hero?) Cobalt in his Sunrise EVA Suit and was going about adding it to the website when the reality that I was working in a digital environment glared back at me. In that moment, I realized there was nothing stopping a book cover from being animated.

After some tweaking, I got the animation’s frames setup and sent it. As you can see, the result is eye catching.

For any print versions of the book, the cover will be static (unless I get a crazy special edition going 🤔). And, while I would love to use this on digital storefronts, none support animated images at this time. Again, harkening back to the static nature of the book industry in the face of changing times greater than they’ve ever sat through before.

The Illegal Astronauts website has also been updated with the cover image and some design tweaks. So, be sure to check it out.
